About us

We make the furniture
we sell

King Jonathan is a furniture manufacturer first and a shop second. Beds, sofas, wardrobes, TV wall units, kitchen cabinets and office fit-outs are built in our own workshop in Accra, by people we employ, to sizes that suit the room they are going into.

That matters more here than it might elsewhere. Rooms in Ghana are rarely a standard size, imported furniture rarely fits them, and a sofa that has crossed an ocean cannot be adjusted once it arrives. Making it ourselves means we can change a width by twenty centimetres, match a fabric to a curtain, or rebuild a headboard that did not sit right — without shipping anything anywhere.

How we work

From a photograph on your phone
to furniture in your room

  1. 01

    We talk

Send a photo of the room on WhatsApp, or come and sit on the pieces in the showroom. Either works.

  2. 02

    We measure

For anything fitted, we come to you. Doorways, ceiling heights and stairwells decide more than people expect.

  3. 03

    You approve

Drawings, materials and a written price. Nothing is cut until you have seen all three and agreed.

  4. 04

    We build

In our workshop, by our own carpenters and upholsterers. You can visit and see it part-made.

  5. 05

    We check

Every piece is inspected and assembled before it leaves. Faults are cheaper to fix here than in your bedroom.

  6. 06

    We deliver and fit

Carried in, assembled, levelled and cleaned up. We take the packaging away with us.

The workshop

Made by people, not by a container

Our carpenters, upholsterers and finishers work under one roof. The same team that cuts the frame sews the covers and sprays the finish, which is why a repair years later is still possible — the person who built it is usually still here.

  • Hardwood frames, not particleboard, on anything that carries weight
  • Foam density chosen for the use, not the price
  • Fabric and finish samples you can hold before you commit
  • Repairs and re-upholstery on pieces we made, years later
What you can hold us to

Four things we will not argue about

The price we quote

Written, itemised and fixed. If the scope changes we tell you before the cost does, not after.

The date we give

We would rather quote four weeks and deliver in four than promise two and disappoint you.

The size you asked for

Measured on site for fitted work. If it does not fit the space we measured, that is ours to put right.

Answering afterwards

The same WhatsApp number works after delivery. A hinge that drops in month three is still our problem.

Come and sit on it first

Photographs only tell you so much. Both showrooms are open six days a week, and there is usually tea.
